Politicians are known for being ruthless, but the race to fill Eric Cantor’s seat for Virginia’s 7th district is going to be filled with more bloodshed than usual.
Yes, there will be the usual backstabbing – but we’re more interested in Democratic candidate Jack Trammell’s penchant for writing vampire novels.
That’s right; the man who will challenge David Brat in November for Cantor’s seat in the House is currently in the middle of writing a YA novel about vampires, according to The Washington Post. He might be a little too late to capitalize on the Twilight buzz, but we’re looking forward to the final project nonetheless.
Trammell and Brat are both professors at Randolph-Macon College; the former teaches sociology. This isn’t Trammell’s first venture into YA, by the way – he published Return to Treasure Island in 2000 and also penned a romance novel, Sarah’s Last Secret.
While this House race is no more important than any other district’s race, it sure is shaping up to be quite the page-turner.
