  • It’s Election Day in Texas!

Boom! Already broke the news in the headline, but today is Primary Election Day in Texas! And like any other election day, we want you to have all the facts you need to get out there and Rock the Vote! So here goes.

First order of business: PHOTO ID. Texas passed a law last year mandating that voters bring a specific form of photo ID in order to vote. Unfortunately (not sure how this makes sense) a voter registration card is NOT accepted. Check out a list of the acceptable IDs in this nifty infographic:

    Other important notes:

    • Polls are open until 7:00pm! Should give you enough time to swing by after work.
    • Don’t know where your polling location is? We got you covered. Check out http://bitly.com/1mSERWx.
    • Need to know who’s on the ballot before you head to the polls? You can review the Republican ballot HERE and the Democratic ballot HERE.
    • If you have any trouble at the polls, call 1-866-OUR-VOTE

Just as a reminder (not that you need it), the primary election is SUPER important. You’re basically choosing the candidates you want to see on the ballot in the general election this fall. Texas is going to be electing a new Governor, a U.S. Senator, and all representatives to the House (plus a whole bunch of other local positions).

    Happy voting, ya’ll!
